They don’t have to justify themselves to you. Was listening to Paril and Lola play it, ended up doing a skin on it. Like, novakid don’t have all that much lore, but there’s reasons for that, the penguins though? They have no excuse. Like, they’re from earth right? Just regular old earth penguins? What environmental pressure caused them to evolve hyper intelligence and the ability to somehow wield guns? Was it global warming? Was there some kind of human-penguin war where penguins had to fight for their very existence? How long ago was this and how did it end? Did they reach some sort of truce or did humans just put on a ban on all penguins forever? Is every penguin in the galaxy technically a fugitive? Is that why they’re all outlaws and don’t subscribe to human standards of morality? Because it didn’t save them? I don’t know! Nobody knows! And we never will. On the flip side, it requires energy to work, and deals slightly less damage than other races melee counterparts. It is a decent weapon for the earliest stages of the game, with the added advantage of being a ranged weapon. This one was so chill Here is I Was The Sun Before It Was Cool from the Starbound OSTStarbound OST. It is found in the Shiplocker during the tutorial quest A Big Bang. I love how starbound has a ton of anthro aliens and then you’ve just got normal looking penguins and it’s never explained ever. The Red Ryder is the starting weapon for Novakids, along with a Rusty Revolver.
